Carly Cap #9 December 4, 2009 – Family Reunion

Carly tracks down Hopelessness to clear the air. A snide Ms. Brady says she is having a hard time following and is confused about Carly’s intentions. Perhaps she needs to eat more carbs. Carly explains to Hope (once again) that she didn’t come back to Salem to steal her man. She is moving out of Bo’s house and rebuilding her life. Being unable to give up the crop, Hopelessness beats it again and states just because Carly is moving out doesn’t mean Bo will give up on her. Bo overhears, and agrees.
Two Dodo’s are out bird watching and plotting the demise of a couple of local chicks. Aunt Ratched returns back to the cuckoo’s nest with Victor, and to her surprise finds Philip, her poached egg, at the mansion.
Carly stops by Java. Mia finds the well-meaning and maternal Dr. Manning a real grind. Carly is trying too hard, and Mia is embarrassed that a stranger knows so much about her so-called life. In her hasty retreat, Carly backs into a young, overly excitable patron spilling coffee on her arm. Carly gets that motherly-disguised-as-medical look again. No worries, if it’s anything like my neighborhood Starbucks there would be more chance of hypothermia than a first degree flash.
Carly goes back to Maggie’s and tells herself, “Self, that didn’t go so well, but we’ll give it another shot.” And pushes the door into the burn victim’s face. Upon request, Carly introduces herself and says she’s moving in. Melanie is a bit of a smart-ass, and for a fleeting second I can see potential. Then right on cue, in walks the fair-haired Eeyore lamenting Carly’s presence and sending my optimism right back to the 100 Acre Wood. Carly offers to leave if Mia finds her presence in the house uncomfortable. Melanie takes her up on the offer.
Spoilers tell us that Melanie is Carly’s daughter, the writers want us to believe Mia could be the teenage bundle of joy. Who really cares, just pick a blonde and let’s get on with this mother.
Neither potential daughter seems to be sprung from those exotic loins. Perhaps a recast would help but I doubt it. I’m with you that this thing needs to find a higher gear.
For me it’s the apparent age difference that makes it unusual for this plot to have a twist as to which it will be. But then again it’s a soap.

Right on sista! Carly needs a stronger back bone, me thinks. If you have to pick the lesser of two weasels… pick the one with attitude.I can only hope the banter between Melanie and Carly contiues. Made me smile anyway.
So i’m thinking that in true soap fashion, and a reflection of the baby-swap storyline, Carly thinks it’s one of the blonds, but her wires have been crossed and it’s actually the other one. I’m gunning for her thinking it’s Mel but it’s actually Mia, but that’s just because i like Mia more, and because of all of this “flesh and blood link” talk that keeps coming up just after Mia and Carly have had a scene, but that could just be Days’ attempt at a red herring…
LOL…Hopelessness is the word! I would imagine that KA is not happy with this storyline..she comes across and whiny and bitter. Eeyore is another wonderful moniker! You know, it’s too bad it takes two weeks for this show to progress a minute of storytime..sigh. Thank god for CC and Louise Sorel!

Yeah,I find myself wanting to know who Carly’s daughter is and not wait. She’s needs to move forward with her daughter and not Bo. This Hope thing is bad enough already. We need to see Crystal emotionally connect with someone she loves and Bo just doesn’t make it but a daughter would. Besides the father of her daughter is suppose to be in Salem so that’s going to be drama enough.
