Cindy McCain is the REAL Maverick

Cindy McCain, wife of 2008 Presidential candidate and Arizona Senator, John McCain, has released an anti-hate portrait promoting gay marriage in California. I’ll even go so far as to take a leap of faith and say she advocates for the other 49 as well. Mrs. McCain made her statement in support of NoH8, the gay rights group challenging Proposition 8, the 2008 California ballot initiative banning same-sex marriage that ironically passed on the day most Americans voted for hope.
Mrs. McCain, on a day that I was finding little politically to feel hopeful about, you have encouraged my sense of optimism. Though I am sure you and I will still disagree on many political issues, I am delighted we can come to a meeting of the minds on the undeniably human issue of love, commitment, and family. Today, Mrs. McCain, you are the maverick of your family, and I give you props from California and beyond.
Now, if you decide to run in 2012, stay away from the former governor of Alaska. That’s a proposition not worth the campaign.

And with props to her daughter for months ago also joining the campaign and currently facing the wrath of political conservatives.

Yes, I would also like to express “props” to Meghan McCain for her continued support of marriage rights as well.
I’m glad she did it and all, but does it remind anyone else of “Children of the Corn”?
I’ve always liked Cindy McCain style and don’t believe she has ever made a secret that believes same sex couples should be allowed to marry. I think the fact that John didn’t stop her from taking the pic and then gave his full support speaks volumes about his unconditional love for her and shows he’s does run separate from the rest of the horses (politicians).
